What is the China Immersion Programme?

In this rapidly evolving global landscape, China will soon become the largest consumer market and one of the most innovative economies in the world. Capital Dynamics and its CEO, Tan Teng Boo, have become avid believers in China’s great potential through our years of extensive research and experience in this often-misunderstood nation. Let us share the fruits of our labour with you through our illuminating China Immersion Programme and bring you up close and personal with the world’s most dynamic and complex economy.

The China Immersion Programme is unique in that we have designed it based on our years of practical experience in setting up and building a business in China. It aims to endow business and corporate leaders from across the globe with a strategic and holistic understanding of China, covering areas such as her history, art and culture, economy, politics, management styles, administration, and regulations. Comprising five days of talks, company and site visits, case studies, and networking opportunities, this programme stands to share with you insight from speakers that have been carefully chosen with a productive blend of distinguished professors, successful practitioners and even a self-made billionaire. As common sense would dictate, you can’t thrive in a country that you don’t understand!

Who are we?

Capital Dynamics is Asia’s first global investment house with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Kuala Lumpur. Led by Tan Teng Boo, we are the first Asian fund manager to obtain the Australian Financial Services Licence, the first ASEAN fund manager to obtain Hong Kong’s retail Type 9 licence and also Malaysia’s first independent investment adviser.

Starting off with a representative office in 2013, we quickly set up our Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE) and purchased an office in Shanghai, steadily growing our business in China and familiarising ourselves with the complexities of the country’s economic, cultural, political and regulatory landscapes. Recently, we launched our very own i Capital China Fund, an investment endeavour that we painstakingly manage and grow through intimately researching and assessing promising local companies.
